Circumcision:
Circumcision can be done for children or adults under local anesthesia. For this, a nerve block is given with a needle or an anesthetic spray is used before surgery. A thread like material is tied tightly in children when the foreskin falls off on its own in a week. In adults, a laser Circumcision is employed to remove the foreskin and sutures are placed if there is any bleeding. This is a relatively simple and minor procedure with a shorter operative time. A yellow-whitish film may form for the first three days after surgery but is not an indicative of any complications. A dressing can be placed on the surgical sight that can be carefully removed in a day to ensure proper healing. A pain killer may be required to assist healing but is not generally extremely painful post surgery.
