Neuro Psychiatrist :
A neuro psychiatrist is a psychiatrist who undergoes extensive training to evaluate and manage neurological disturbances affecting the mental health condition of a person, and causes perceptual, behavioral, and emotional disturbances in a person. To qualify as a neuro psychiatrist, one has to complete their graduation in MBBS and pursue post graduation in MD/ DNB/ DPM in Psychiatry, followed by a super specialization or fellowship in neuro psychiatry. The common types of conditions managed by a neuro psychiatrist are neurological disorders that can cause neuro psychiatric symptoms, dementia, uncontrolled anger, seizures, attention deficit disorders, migraine headaches, eating disorders, addictions, depression and anxiety. The neuro psychiatric symptoms addressed by a neuro psychiatrist include sadness, memory problems, irritability and mood problems. The treatment modalities offered by a neuro psychiatrist involve psychotherapy, managing with medications like anti psychotic medications, mood stabilizers, psycho stimulants and antidepressants, cognitive behavioral therapy, neurostimulation techniques and sleep aids.
