Interventional Pulmonologist :
An interventional pulmonologist is a specialist doctor who can remove blockages from the respiratory system without surgery. These specialists use a variety of equipment to locate, diagnose, and treat diseases such as asthma, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, tuberculosis, and pneumonia. Interventional pulmonologists are not surgeons. They rely on endoscopic techniques for diagnosis and treatment. These techniques involve inserting instruments into the body and viewing the internal structures. Most procedures that these specialists perform involve some type of bronchoscopy. A bronchoscope allows the doctor to visually locate and then treat inflammation, bleeding, tumours, and blockages in the lungs or airways. The tool can also be used to obtain tissue and fluid samples, implant stents, and dilate areas. All of this is achieved without making large cuts in the body. These doctors also have expertise in procedures like medical pleuroscopy, argon plasma coagulation, and pleurodesis.
