Heart disease :
Heart disease encompasses a wide range of diseases affecting the heart, but mainly refers to heart attacks and coronary artery disease. The other types of heart diseases include cardiomyopathy, heart valve stenosis, coronary artery disease or narrowing of the heart's blood vessels due to fatty deposits, arrhythmias, heart failure, problems with fluid filled sac surrounding the heart and congenital heart failure. The common symptoms of heart diseases are pounding or racing heart, shortness of breath, sweating, chest or upper body pain, heaviness or discomfort, lightheadedness, neck pain, nausea and vomiting, dizziness or sudden unexplained loss of consciousness, exhaustion, difficulty in sleeping, swelling in the lower body, heartburn or indigestion, fever and being unable to handle exercise. The treatment plan for dealing with heart diseases includes taking medications, procedures like open heart and minimally invasive techniques or ablations, making lifestyle modifications, and taking part in a cardiac rehab program.
