Anger Management :
Anger management is a type of mental health counselling in which an individual learns the skills to understand and deploy their anger in a constructive manner. Anger management is crucial to learn when an individual acts in a destructive manner when their feelings are hurt. Uncontrolled anger can cause destructive behaviours such as shouting, swearing and violence. In the long run, an individual with anger problems may develop chronic headaches, high blood pressure, heart problems and digestive problems.
Anger management begins with clinical and mental health assessments that are performed by a psychiatrist or psychologist. Then, the individual must attend regular sessions of talk therapy. If the individual has problems like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, or other problems, then a doctor may prescribe medications to manage the symptoms. Some months of therapy and medications can help an individual build a healthier way to manage their anger. However, the process of change requires an inner commitment from the individual.
