A Sports Physiotherapist is a physiotherapist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries sustained during sports and physical activity. They optimize athletic performance and provide assistance in recovery from injuries in athletic persons with their expertise in anatomy and biomechanics. They are the doctors who obtain a Bachelor of Physiotherapy followed by a Master's (MPT) in sports physiotherapy. They work along with coaches, doctors, and other specialist to provide comprehensive care for athletes. They deal with conditions like musculoskeletal injuries like sprains, fractures, dislocations, ligament tears, sport-related injuries like tennis elbow, knee injuries, Achilles tendinitis, pain management, neurological conditions, and other conditions like posture and osteoarthritis.
