Paediatric Surgeon :
A paediatric surgeon is a specialist surgeon who will provide surgical treatments to infants, children, and adolescents. Paediatric surgeons will be well-trained in diagnosing and managing diseases in children and will perform surgeries to manage them. They specialise in diagnosing birth defects and provide prompt treatment. A paediatric surgeon is qualified with a graduation in MBBS and followed by post-graduation in general surgery, MS or DNB and further specialisations called MCh. There are many surgical procedures which are done by paediatric surgeons, including traumas, congenital defects like cleft lip and cleft palate, gastrointestinal disorders, cancers, pediatric emergencies like appendicitis, hernias, obstructions in the bowels, and tumours. There are some specific procedures which are done by paediatric surgeons, including hernia repair, transplant surgeries, appendectomy, and endoscopic procedures. The symptoms which should be addressed by a Paediatric surgeon will be pain in the abdomen, breathing difficulties, chronic vomiting, abnormal growths in the body, injuries, unexplained weight loss, and birth defects.
