Vitamin D deficiency :
Vitamin D deficiency results in issues related to muscles and bones in the body. The presenting complaints of vitamin D deficiency include mood changes like depression, weakness and muscle cramps, fatigue, bone pain especially in the back, deformities in the joints, and bone loss. These symptoms occur mainly if there are decreased levels of vitamin D and indicate rickets. The factors responsible for vitamin D deficiency in the body include clinical conditions like Crohn's disease, obesity, celiac disease, kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, certain medications, and liver disease. The treatment methods to increase the levels of vitamin D include taking foods rich in vitamin D, like mushrooms, rainbow trout, egg yolks, beef liver, fatty fish such as tuna and salmon, cod liver oil, almond milk, cow milk and soy, breakfast cereals, orange juice, and dairy products such as yogurt.
