Uterus Cancer :
Uterus cancer is a serious disease in which unusual cells build up rapidly in the uterus in women. Uterine cancer usually refers to endometrial cancer, which is a cancer that affects the inner lining of the womb. Uterine sarcoma (cancer in the muscle wall of the womb) is also a uterine cancer, however, it is rare.
The symptoms of uterus cancer include unusual vaginal bleeding, abnormal vaginal discharge and pain in the lower abdomen. An affected individual may also notice a lump in their pelvis. The diagnosis of this disease begins with a physical exam and pelvic exam. Then, an oncologist will order several tests such as a CT scan, blood tests, and an endometrial biopsy. These tests reveal whether a female has cancer and what stage it is in. The treatment of the cancer usually involves surgery to remove the uterus from the body.
