Urethritis :
Urethritis is a condition in which the tube that carries the urine from the bladder out of the body becomes irritated, swollen, and sore. It is usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection such as chlamydia or gonorrhoea. These infections occur due to unprotected sex with an already infected person. Urethritis causes symptoms like pain and burning during urination and irritation or soreness on the tip of the penis. It can also cause a discharge to come out of the genitals. That being said, urethritis does not always have symptoms. The condition is diagnosed using a swab test, which involves taking a sample from the genitals using a cotton bud. It can also be diagnosed with a urine test. Urethritis is usually treated using antibiotics. It can take up to two weeks for the symptoms to reduce after treatment begins.
