Phototherapy :
Phototherapy, also called light therapy, is used in the treatment of newborn jaundice. In this phototherapy, UV light is exposed to the skin. There are different types of UV light, such as UVB (ultraviolet light B) and UVA (ultraviolet light A) also there are different types of phototherapy lights, such as red light therapy, blue light therapy, etc. Phototherapy is used to treat other various conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, itching, morphea, and mucosis fungoides, etc. The benefits of phototherapy are it helps in reduction of inflammation in skin, reduces the itching, and prevents the relapses and flare ups of eczema and dermatitis. The duration of phototherapy is dependant on the size of the area of the disease affected the body. There are some side effects seen after the phototherapy are redness of skin goes away in 24 hours, dry skin, blisters over the skin, etc.
