Knock Knees :
A condition in which the knees tilt inwards, touching each other with the ankles remaining spaced, is called knock knees. It is most commonly seen in girls compared to boys. It occurs majorly in children at the age of 3 to 5 years and corrects itself by the age of 7 to 8 years. It can develop in later stages due to an injury, infection, deficiency of vitamin D, calcium, obesity, and knee arthritis. People affected by knock knees experience symptoms like stiff joints, knee pain, and walking with a limp. It can be diagnosed by Orthopedic through physical examination, x-rays, MRI, and CT scans. Treatment plans depend upon the cause of the condition, which include treatment of deficiencies, exercise, physical therapy, orthotics, weight loss and surgery if needed.
