Heel pain :

Heel pain is the one of the common complaint which we come across in our daily life.It is important to establish the correct cause of heel pain in order to treat it. The most common causes of heel pain are : stepping on a hard object, tendonitis , abnormal growth of a bone in the heel , spine problems, nerve compression ,and fractures. It is difficult to determine the source of pain and this makes the diagnosis difficult or confusing.swelling of the tissue on the bottom of the foot is the most common cause for heel pain. Risk factors of heel pain include obesity, flat foot ,sports , improper foot wear.Diagnosis of heel pain is done by X ray , ultrasounds, MRI and physical examination. Treatment includes : Administration of pain killers , physiotherapy , stretching exercises, steroid injections, and immobilzation.
