Astigmatism :

Astigmatism is not a disease , its just the way our eye is shaped and the light is reflected on our retina. In people with astigmatism the shape of the cornea differs when compared to the normal people which makes the light spread in different direction which can be corrected with glasses or contact lens. There are 2 types of astigmatism depending upon the shape of the cornea and the shape of the lens. Children are also prone to have astigmatism. Symptoms include head ache , blurring of vision, fatigue and eye strain . Visual Acuity test , refraction test are done by the ophthalmologist to rule out astigmatism. Astigmatism can be corrected by contact lens or glasses. Surgical method can also be considered for correction of astigmatism
