Angina :
Chest pain in medical terminology is also known as angina. Symptoms of angina include burning sensation in the chest , radiating to bilateral lower limbs and neck. It might also present as heaviness in the chest associated with sweating. In some instances it can misunderstood as a gastric problem and patients neglect it. The common cause of angina is due to the formation of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries. Angina left untreated might lead to complete blockage of the coronary arteries which might lead to myocardial infarction. Risk factors for developing an angina are smoking , dyslipidemia , underlying disease like hypertension , diabetes mellitus .Treatment of angina includes nitrates, statins and also antihypertensives. A coronary angiogram followed by coronary angioplasty might also be suggested as the treatment of angina
