Uterus Cancer :
Uterus cancer includes endometrial cancer, which develops in the endometrium, and uterine sarcoma, which develops in the myometrium. The uterus is a part of the reproductive system where a fetus develops during pregnancy. It is caused by the multiplication of the mutated cells. Symptoms of endometrial cancer include vaginal bleeding between periods before menopause, vaginal bleeding after menopause, lower abdominal pain, clear vaginal discharge, and extremely prolonged vaginal bleeding. Risk factors include obesity, polycystic ovarian syndrome, lynch syndrome, older age, fatty foods, familial history of hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer, diabetes, ovarian diseases, early menstruation, late menopause, long menstruation span, not getting pregnant, estrogen replacement therapy. Complications include anemia and metastasis. Diagnosis is made by asking about symptoms and performing a physical and pelvic exam. Diagnosis is made by blood tests, imaging tests like CT scans, MRI scans, transvaginal ultrasound and other tests like endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy, dilation and curettage.
